Quick solutions to the most common issues with Funshow translation tools.

Installation Issues

Can't find Funshow in Extensions menu

Solution:

  1. Refresh your Google Workspace application (F5 or Cmd+R)
  2. Check if add-on is installed: Extensions → Manage add-ons
  3. If not installed, visit Google Workspace Marketplace
  4. Search for "Funshow Translation" and click Install
Installation failed or shows error

Common causes:

  • Admin restrictions on your Google Workspace account
  • Network connectivity issues
  • Browser compatibility problems

Solutions:

  • Contact your IT administrator to allowlist Funshow
  • Try using Google Chrome (latest version)
  • Disable browser extensions temporarily
  • Clear browser cache and cookies
Authorization/Permission errors

Solution:

  1. Go to Extensions → Funshow → Remove
  2. Reinstall from Google Workspace Marketplace
  3. When prompted, carefully review and accept all permissions
  4. Ensure you're logged into the correct Google account

Translation Issues

Translation is very slow or freezing

Causes & Solutions:

  • Large selection: Try translating smaller ranges (max 10,000 cells for Sheets)
  • Poor connection: Check internet speed and stability
  • Server load: Try again during off-peak hours
  • Browser memory: Close unnecessary tabs and restart browser
Translation quality is poor or incorrect

Improvements:

  1. Switch translation mode:
    • Technical mode for industry terms
    • Formal mode for official documents
    • Creative mode for marketing
  2. Simplify source text (shorter sentences, clearer structure)
  3. Use proper punctuation and grammar in source
  4. For critical content, review and edit after translation
Some cells or text didn't translate

By design, these are not translated:

  • Numbers and formulas (Sheets)
  • URLs and email addresses
  • Code snippets
  • Empty cells or pure whitespace

If regular text wasn't translated:

  • Check if text was actually selected
  • Verify no character limit was exceeded
  • Try translating that section separately
Error: "Translation failed" or timeout

Quick fixes:

  1. Refresh the page and try again
  2. Check your internet connection
  3. Try a smaller selection
  4. Log out and log back into Funshow
  5. If problem persists, contact support with error message

Formatting Issues

Formatting changed after translation

Funshow preserves all formatting. Changes usually occur due to:

  • Text length: Translations may be longer/shorter, affecting layout
  • Font support: Some fonts don't support all characters in target language
  • Column width (Sheets): May need adjustment for longer text

Solutions:

  • Adjust column widths or cell sizes
  • Use Unicode-compatible fonts (Arial, Calibri, etc.)
  • Enable text wrapping for multi-line content
Formulas not working after translation (Sheets)

Funshow preserves all formulas. If formulas break:

  1. Check if original formula was valid
  2. Verify cell references haven't been manually changed
  3. Check for circular reference errors
  4. Ensure referenced sheets/ranges still exist

If issue persists, contact support with example formula.

Images or tables misaligned (Docs/Slides)

Cause: Text expansion pushing content

Solutions:

  • Adjust image positioning (fixed vs inline)
  • Resize images if needed
  • Use "Wrap text" options for better flow
  • Adjust table column widths
  • Add or remove line breaks as needed

Account & Billing

Ran out of free credits

Free plan includes 200 credits.

Options:

  • Wait for monthly reset (1st of each month)
  • Upgrade to Premium ($9.99/month) for unlimited translations
  • Contact sales for Enterprise plan if you're a team

Subscription not working after purchase

Steps to resolve:

  1. Refresh your browser
  2. Log out and log back into Funshow
  3. Check email for payment confirmation
  4. Verify you're using the same Google account for payment and add-on
  5. Allow up to 15 minutes for activation

How to cancel subscription
  1. Open Funshow in any Google Workspace app
  2. Click "Account" or "Settings" in sidebar
  3. Select "Manage Subscription"
  4. Click "Cancel Subscription"
  5. Follow confirmation steps

You'll retain access until the end of your billing period. No refunds for partial months.

Performance Tips

Optimize Translation Speed

  • Break large documents: Translate 10,000 cells or 50 pages at a time
  • Clean up first: Remove unnecessary formatting and content
  • Stable connection: Use wired internet for large translations
  • Close other tabs: Free up browser memory
  • Off-peak hours: Translate during low-traffic times if possible
